Valla
1st & 2nd November 2008
Hey All,
Just got back from Valla last night and all I can say is what an awesome event!!
I had never been to Valla before but after years of persuasion from Bernie I made some last minute arrangements to head up there this year to see what all the fuss was about. I had planned to take my EB up there but the gremlins kept coming back in the gearbox so I ended up taking my daily driver... a bit of a shame but I got there!!
My cousin and I arrived Friday night and met up with some family who had travelled down from QLD. This meant we did not get much of a chance to mingle with the GT crowd but still lots of fun none the less! Saturday was the show and shine day in the main drag of Nambucca Heads which I particularly enjoyed because I got a chance to take quite a fair few photos, meet up with all the usual suspects AND wear my Club shirt for the first time too!!
The heavens opened up and everyone started to leave at about 12pm and we got word that there was a swap meet on at Valla Park where most of the people were staying so off we went. This is what got me the most. Everyone just relaxing in this massive caravan park, chatting, doing laps in their GT's.... it was like a matured version of the Summernats.
Yesterday we went for a sticky beak up to Raleigh Go Kart track where QLD member Bob was thrashing his XY around the track. Shortly after that we decided to head home.
Anyway that's all from me but for anyone who has never been to Valla before start planning for next year it is an event not to be missed!!
