Berry Bowling Club 2009
Sunday 16th August 2009
Hi All,
Another great outing and event for The GT Club.
Awesome weather was on the cards as I was greeted by 30 odd old school muscle GT's, Falcons, Mustangs at the Uncle Leo's truck stop. I was one of the last to arrive oops! Ollie put it down to Diane being away and my own lack of organisation lol!!!
Anyway as it was such a fine day and I was yet to stretch Bill's legs on a run, I decided to leave my trusty (and recently redwalled - thanks Genuine) XY at home, and give the ole HO a good run down south. I'm pleased to say it did not miss a beat, and although the old aquajets let out some squeals of protest down the mountains to Kangaroo Valley, I still felt rather more refreshed that I normally would after such a long drive in the XY. Must be Windsor thing! hahaha!
Back to the run, well how do you explain the feeling of cruising down the hwy will all your mates, in the best cars and the sun shining down as usual on The GT Club! I had the superfringe blaring with The Kings greatest hits on 2CH (incidentally the 32nd anniversary of the Kings passing - RIP EP!)
Anyway the drive was awesome, the weather just perfect and growling Ford V8's thru the mountain ranges. Rob & Ollie did the obligatory camera set-up at the bridge and also with our drive into Berry - thanks guys, as always thinking of others before yourselves.
The lunch at Berry was nice, even if the wait was a little long. The beer was cold and that was what mattered to me at that point. The kids played out on the grass, the members & public admiring the casual 'car show' just put on by the GT Club at Berry Bowling club! lol!
Raffles were done - once again well done Tezza! Mate you were under the pump there for a while! Lol...wouldn't (and couldn't) do that job for quids!! Haha - champion you are and the wife helping of course.
Tobe as usual taking plenty of pics and everyone having a great relaxed time of it.
Car of the run - Jim's awesome SA XY GT! Top car and top bloke, well deserved.
The run back down the freeway was hampered with a bit of bottle neck traffic around waterfall. Got really used to the ole twin plate clutch by this point lol!!!
Again a top run, top weather, great people to share it with and looking forward to the next!
Cheers,
disco.
