The GT Club 1st Birthday Party
Sunday 21st June 2009

The GT Club turns one!

What an absolutely fantastic day, so much fun was had by all. Everyone's faces were just lit up with big smiles the whole day, and laughter - I'll tell you what, Kosta is an entertainer!!!
His dancing 'prowess' on the dance floor with the brazillian dancers was so fun to watch, I just hope we get to see the video!

As always Ollie deserves a huge thanks as she was constantly running around organising the day, making sure everyone was seated as arranged I just hope she got to sit down and enjoy the wonderful food that Daltone House served up. And also the Commitee and fellow members thankyou; everyone lending a hand to make the day what it was.

There were many highlights of the day. Walking into the foyer and viewing the beautiful display of a Phase 1, Phase 1.5, Phase 2, Phase 3 and the 9D XT GT racecar was one, the brazillian dancers were amazing to watch, and our members up dancing with them was a laugh, the awards and trophy presentation where Ollie was awarded the Ellis French Trophy for her tireless efforts throughout the last year, helping to establish, maintain and keep The GT Club in the number 1 spot, we surely are the Premier GT Club! Disco's speech although, dare I say long winded was very touching, well done Disco.

The kids were kept entertained by a clown after lunch, great to see the smiles on the kids faces.

Throughout the day there was a projector playing pictures of all our past runs and events playing on a big screen for all to see, what a nice touch and we got to see a video message of Harry Firth too, wishing a happy birthday to all the members.

All of our sponsors, select members and Commitee were recognised with Trophies and specially engraved Black Label Whisky. A big thanks to Leo K for donating the bottles to the club. You are a legend mate.

Everyone who attended got presented a memento from the day; a blue ribbon adorned with The GT Club insignia, denoting our first birthday party, and the grill badge that was a really nice touch, truly first class.

There was also some unfortunate news on the day, Bruce McPhee was rushed to hospital we the members of The GT Club wish all the best to the McPhee family and hope all is well with Bruce, our thoughts are with you.

The day seemed to fly by unfortunately because once again The GT Club excelled. Well done to all involved in making our first birthday party a truly memorable day!
Thanks
Toby
