Central Coast Show and Shine 2009
Sunday 22nd February 2009
Hello everyone
Just got home and WOW, what a top day.
Firstly I would like to thank the Central coast all ford club for a magnificent event.
These people are just "GOLD" they have done this event 6 times and you know what they are 35 members strong and nearly everyone of them was there to lend a hand. Mighty effort. IMO.
Angie is like the queen bee, and I am so glad that she is who she is. Not just for her club, but also for the charity and the car movement in general, truly humbled by this fantastic woman and her members friendship.
I am sorry I did not promote this event to it's full potential, but because Tim's van was working the event, I thought it may be seen as a conflict of interest. I always put the club first and the Fords in the Park although cancelled was for a good cause as well.
Transparency is paramount in running a club.
After today and the great time had by all, I am sure this event will be well patroned next year and not because I had a vested interest but for the fantastic venue and show that it is, for a great cause and hosted by one of our strongest supporters The Central Coast All Ford Club.
What a great day numbers were down but weather was a player, most guys wont commit to a show n shine on a premise of maybe it will rain.
I was very proud of our Guys and congrats to Peter. Top car and very well deserved result. That's right "MR REDPEPPER".
We had some late arrivals but Alf is what he is.
That Brick that he drives a real dinosaur, if the phase 3 is left for dead by the new GT's what chance has the phase 2.
And Alf well he bought it brand new from alto ford and never felt the urge to upgrade. NOT VERY BRIGHT OUR ALF.
But a truer and more genuine enthusiast does not exist.
I told Craig he was welcome to come and park at our display with his club banner (FGTOCNSWinc). I am glad he accepted and I hope this outing fosters good relations at last, between "The GT Club" and the "FGTOCNSW". Craig and Bill were most welcome and I believe had a great time as mate of ours.
A big thanks to the GRIZZLY BEAR AND THE POLAR BEAR, stayed back and helped us pack up the van, saved me a couple of hours at least.
But that is part of being in this club, the giving nature of people always sets me a back, so proud to be associated with "GENUINE" people I am.
Hope someone took some pics. Raffle hey boys it was for charity so I bought heaps and won heaps.
The Auction set me back 500 bucks but again for a good cause and some priceless things I bought.
After all I could not let the Commondoor club outbid me as i am "not over the cars or the hype "…
Cheers
Rob
